The 2026 Atlanta Film Festival celebrates 50 years of cinema! The ATLFF will run from April 23-May 3 with an assortment of special presentations, programming, and panel conversations.
Opening Night (April 23) will feature IDIOTS, directed by Macon Blair and filmed in Georgia, followed by the premiere of the documentary series The Birth of Trap Music, with appearances from T.I., Drumma Boy, and other special guests. Closing Night (May 2) will spotlight I Love Boosters, the latest feature from acclaimed filmmaker Boots Riley, with Riley and Taylour Paige expected to attend.
Christopher Escobar, Executive Director of ATLFF stated: “Reaching our 50th anniversary is both a celebration and a reflection of the creative community that has blossomed alongside the Atlanta Film Festival,” “This year’s programming honors that legacy while also looking ahead–spotlighting bold new choices, groundbreaking stories, and the next generation of storytellers and filmmakers shaping the future of the industry.”
A special screening of If I Go Will They Miss Me with a post-film conversation featuring Danielle Brooks. Legacy presentations of notable ATLFF titles such as The Signal, Great World of Sound, and That Evening Sun, with appearances from filmmakers and cast. A 35mm screening of V/H/S and a presentation of The Accountant by Ray McKinnon. A special screening of Building Bombs, the Oscar-nominated documentary by Mark Mori. This year’s festival will also highlight its Creative Conference and immersive anniversary programming, continuing its tradition as one of the country’s leading celebrations of independent film.
We are excited to enjoy this year's historic anniversary of ATLFF celebrating 50 years of cinematic programming. We are especially looking forward to the film "I Love Boosters" directed by Boots Riley. The ensemble cast alone in: Keke Palmer, Demi Moore, LaKeith Stanfield, Will Pouter, Eiza Gonzalez and more is just so exciting. Especially the Willy Wonka-esque color palette applied to the custom design and look of it all brought by the filmmaker Boots Riley. Follow Young Bold And Regal as we give you the best and most exclusive moments from the 50th annual Atlanta Film Festival.
