by Evan L. Jackson

At the Daisy Jones & The Six Premiere for Amazon Studios we talk to director Nzingha Stewart. She directs four out of the 10 episode saga about a rock n roll band that involves love, drugs, heartbreaks and harmonies. Starring Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Camilla Morrone, Suki Waterhouse and more this series is sizzling in 60s/70s drama. Billy Dunne and hi band of The Six struggles to make hits that connect with fan while a whirling Daisy Jones is a singer songwriter phenom looking to get her sound break into the mainstream. Through the marriage of music Daisy Jones & The Six is made into the ultimate band with the Daisy as the heart & soul and The Six brining their classic rhymic sound. We love that Nzingha utilized her music directing background to give us a full scope of the band's rise and fall. The penultimate episode is episode 9 where the band become world wide rockstars. Their stardom is solidified and the tight, close shots of the band are expanded to stadium tour concerts. As the look of the episode become larger the problems become bigger and unsurmountable. Coming to a stunning crash in the final scenes of the finale. Yet, there is a tinge of a hope (and maybe a second season?) toward the end that is sweet and sentimental.
